"Welcome to Las Vegas". We like "Small Town Hospitality" and give awards to people who help create community. Meet Tommy Fusco from New York, who creates community, wherever he goes... He is a "down home warm friendly guy"! (See www.highpointcenter.info for more about the community awards.) Las Vegas will be the SIZE of New York City SOON.
We need to prepare in advance for many changes... We need to connect the Strip to Fremont Street, so...over 40 million visitors, plus locals, can find their way around town more easily. We need to extend the MONORAIL to Fremont.
With a low fare, pass program similar to San Francisco's Muni-Pass System. We need a Celebration/Holiday Square similar to San Francisco's Union Square and Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park for community activities. We need Parade Flags to mark a path from the Strip to Fremont Street to make it more fun to follow...the yellow brick road. We need to surprise the world, and create a "Central Park West". We can invite Starbucks, there, too. Our Mission: As a Think Tank Group, to "think outside the box", and make Las Vegas a Safe, Inviting, Attractive, Convenient, and a Fun Place. Contact Conrad Villella to join us at our next "Thinking" luncheon. Email: conradvillella@cox.net or Tel: (702) 254-3452

Geoff Schumacher (HISTORY OF LAS VEGAS) says "Reckless and arrogant motorists have turned the metropolitan area into one of the nation's most dangerous." We need signs welcoming tourists and tourist SPEED ZONES (similar to School Zones). We need lower max speeds on the freeways through and around the city: 45 mph, and max 35 on city streets. Most drivers are "Tourists" or "Retired". ALL need to SLOW DOWN and LIVE while seeing the city. Count the skid marks on the highway walls! We need one-way streets. Off-street parking. Parking ramps with PUBLIC RESTROOMS and 24/7 Video/Police Security (e.g. Monaco). Our tourists should feel SAFE in our city. Summerlin Planners (Where are you? We need you downtown.) Monorail? Traffic Circle @ St. Louis, Paradise, Strip, & Main? Downtown is cut-off. The Las Vegas Welcome Sign needs a large, safe, public park space for photo taking by visitors.
